We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.
Matt Barker, Avant Homes
Avant Homes Central has appointed a director in charge. Matt Barker joins from Persimmon Homes, where he held the same position for the company’s South Yorkshire region. He has worked in the housebuilding industry for 26 years in a variety of land, planning, partnerships, development and management roles.
 
Aaron Symonds, Orbit Homes
Orbit Homes, has appointed Aaron Symonds as its new construction director for the East. He joins with nearly 30 years of experience in senior positions within the housebuilding sector, most recently as construction director at Allison Homes, having also worked with Weston Homes and Fairview Homes.
 
Victoria Grinnall, Wyatt Homes
Poole-based Wyatt Homes has appointed Victoria Grinnall as assistant site manager at its Mountbatten Park development in North Baddesley. Before joining the housebuilder in November 2023, she spent five years in the army as a Royal Engineer, notably as the first female armoured engineer then participated in an Ex-Armed Forces Programme.
 
John Gantlett, Persimmon Homes
John Gantlett has re-joined Persimmon Homes Wessex as land and planning director after a spell at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, where he was the land director. He came into the industry as a development trainee and progressed to land manager with the business. He commented: “I am really excited to be returning to Persimmon in my new role.”
 
Kate Gascoigne, A2Dominion
Kate Gascoigne has been appointed as permanent Chief Customer Officer by A2Dominion, selected from over 200 candidates. She had previously worked for the Group as a consultant since February 2023 and as an interim chief customer officer since September. She said: “I’m excited to be continuing my journey with A2Dominion.”
 
Sean Taylor, Home Builders Federation
Planning manager for independent housebuilder Dandara Wales, Sean Taylor, has been selected as the Home Builders Federation’s [HBF] Equality, Diversity and Inclusion ambassador for Wales. He said: “I’m excited to use this appointment to promote equality, diversity in the Welsh construction and planning industry.”
 
Flora McDougall, Firethorn Trust
Flora McDougall has joined Firethorn Trust as its new senior associate to be responsible for driving forward opportunities for Firethorn Trust across the Build to Rent and student accommodation sectors. She was previously an associate director at CBRE, where she chaired the blue-chip company’s Living sustainability working group.
 
Multiple appointments, Adderstone Living
Adderstone Living has announced several major new appointments. Debbie Hope joins as director of new business, bringing with her more than 12 years’ experience in affordable housing development. Also appointed are senior planner Emma Moon, senior estimator Neil Fitzpatrick, and technical coordinator Jordan Dixon.
 
Multiple appointments, Dolphin Square Charitable Foundation
Dolphin Square Charitable Foundation, parent company of Dolphin Living, has announced that it has appointed Paul Disley-Tindell and Jason Green to its board, and Katherine Russell and Janice White as committee members. Andrew Giblin, chair of the board, said: “It is an honour to work with a team so committed to its delivery.”
 
David Beattie, Carter Jonas
Carter Jonas has appointed David Beattie as partner and head of York Residential Sales. He has accumulated over 20 years of experience, concentrated on the Yorkshire market, and joins from Linley and Simpson, where he led the firm’s York office. Before this, he was at Quantum Estate Agency, which he co-founded in 2000 and was appointed MD in 2015.
 
Joe Arnold, Reginox UK
Reginox UK has announced the appointment of Joe Arnold as area sales manager for the South West region, bringing with him a wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge of the KBB industry. Dave Mayer, commercial director of Reginox UK, said: “We are excited about the potential his appointment creates for us.”
 
Ian Gibbs, Zoo Hardware
Zoo Hardware has appointed Ian Gibbs as a new area sales manager for the South East. He brings with him over 15 years’ experience working with architects and specifiers for brands including Karndean Flooring, BLANCO UK and EGGER Group. He remarked: “I am looking forward to meeting with our extensive customer base.”
