Sustainability has formed a key part of the company’s strategy for over 30 years, with the Moores team working tirelessly to raise the standards of environmental responsibility across the industry. As part of the company’s sustainability strategy, Moores has maintained a zero waste to landfill status since 2011 and eliminated 42% of its carbon impact over the past eight years, which equates to a reduction of 22,818 tonnes of carbon dioxide (tCO2e) – the equivalent of planting 142,613 trees.
Recently, Moores made its greatest environmental impact to date, investing £2million in a new biomass boiler, and also actioned many other initiatives including replacing 2,000 lights throughout their factory and offices with smart LED fittings, introducing new plug-in hybrid cars and collaborating with the Supply Chain Sustainability School, which has helped Moores remove 20 tonnes of single-use polyethene from the company’s production lines.
The company also has more initiatives planned throughout 2024 and 2025 that will further propel the company’s roadmap towards their carbon-neutral status.
