London Square drive expansion with new 559-home site in Crayford

Award-winning developer, London Square, has finalised the acquisition of the former Electrobase site in Crayford to deliver an £180million development that will transform an area close to the town centre in South East London.
This will be London Square’s first tenure-blind development. Square Roots, the independent registered provider established by London Square two years ago, will be responsible for the affordable element. There will be a total of 559 homes, with 240 homes for shared ownership and social rent plus homes for private sale, with all sales and rentals, whether affordable or private, being handled by an integrated team in a specially designed marketing suite.
Planning consent was finalised in August for the site by the London Borough of Bexley. A new riverside walk will be created along the River Cray and the site will be opened up to provide walking and cycling routes. The 7.19-hectare former factory site on Maxim Road, which has been acquired from property companies, Skillcrown and Purelake NewHomes, is close to Crayford station with fast services to Charing Cross, and within walking distance of Crayford town centre, with a good range of shops, restaurants, entertainment and leisure facilities for residents.

We are delighted that the site now has full planning permission and we will be pressing ahead to deliver an attractive, well-connected place where people will want to live, helping to transform this area of Crayford for the existing local community and businesses.”
