Reading Time: 2 minutes

Honey has secured six sites across Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire that will deliver 867 new build homes and revenues of £262million.
The Sheffield-based housebuilder has acquired sites near Rotherham, Sheffield, Mansfield, Chesterfield and Huddersfield, while also exchanging contracts on a site in Maltby, Rotherham.
Since being launched in October 2022, Honey has now secured 14 sites across Yorkshire and the East Midlands that will deliver 1,781 plots and a combined gross development value of £530million.
Honey was founded by chief executive officer, Mark Mitchell, and is backed by private equity firm, Alchemy Partners, and its Alchemy Special Opportunities Fund IV which has £937million of fully committed capital.
The housebuilder’s first two developments are currently underway. These are a £14million, 50-new home scheme in South Normanton, Derbyshire and a £23.5million, 95-home development in Barnsley. The remaining five secured sites range from Bradford to Nottingham.
Three of Honey’s new sites were purchased from Rotherham-headquartered land and property generation company, Harworth Group.
Plans have been submitted for the proposed developments near Mansfield and Huddersfield, with planning expected to be submitted for the other four recently secured sites within the coming weeks.
Honey’s chief executive officer, Mark Mitchell, commented: “Securing these six sites marks the latest milestone in our expansion strategy to quickly become an established housebuilding brand in the north of England and the Midlands.”
“We have gained a great deal of momentum in a short space of time and we intend to continue on our growth trajectory throughout 2024.”
Honey’s house types focus on providing the flexible use of all living spaces for residents and include bi-fold doors, individually designed fully-integrated kitchens and boutique-style bathrooms as standard.
Each house type will also accommodate the Future Homes Standard which requires all new homes being built from 2025 onwards to produce 75-80% less carbon emissions.
