Bewley Homes purchases 75-acre site in Cotswold Nature Reserve – Show House

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Bewley Homes has completed the purchase of an £80million, 75-acre development site from Acorn Property Group in Ashton Keynes, a sought-after village within the Cotswold Water Park nature reserve.
The development provides the Hampshire-based premium housebuilder with an opportunity to further extend its expansion west of its current area of operation. The site will accommodate 75 private dwellings that will be set around two private lakes, open green spaces, and a central courtyard area. With two, three, four and five-bedroom terraced and detached homes, bungalows, and refurbished Grade II listed buildings, the comprehensive product range is expected to appeal equally to local Wiltshire buyers and those moving out from London and Oxford or returning to the area.
Bewley Homes’ managing director, Andrew Brooks, commented: “The Bewley board is delighted to have completed on such a unique development site, which will offer our potential customers the latest technology through our carefully designed and sustainable homes, convenient commutability, and the extensive health and well-being benefits from living in such a picturesque setting.”
“Against what has been a challenging backdrop for our industry and the economy as a whole, Bewley continues to be offered these exciting opportunities across the South East and to the West. I believe this is due to Bewley being a well-funded private company with a very short line of communication, which enables us to move quickly in securing land investments to support the growth of the business. Furthermore, we are known for building high-quality designed schemes.”
“Ashton Keynes will add to the many other developments which the company has successfully purchased. These recent investments are key to the continued growth of the business and as always, we are looking for more opportunities, whilst many of our competitors seem to have a more pessimistic outlook on land investments.”
Land director at Bewley, Andrew Driscoll, added: “We could not be more delighted to have completed this amazing development opportunity. We look forward to building the development in conjunction with Acorn Property Group and believe that it is just the start of our relationship with them.”
James Groombridge, regional managing director at Acorn Property Group, said: “This has been the culmination of three years of hard work bringing the land through the planning process. We are looking forward to seeing the project being developed over the next few years.”
Bewley Homes has been operating across the South East for over 30 years and currently has developments located in Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, and Wiltshire.  The housebuilder was awarded silver for Best Medium Housebuilder at the WhatHouse? Awards 2022, and also recorded its sixth consecutive gold award for Outstanding Customer Service from In-House Research.
